Trek Summary

I just got back from Trek. It was one of the most pointless things I've ever done. After being assigned to a 'family' of nine other youth as well as a 'ma' and a 'pa', we set out with a handcart with all of our stuff. We left around 11:30 A.M. Wednesday morning and, with the exception of a few breaks, walked until 10 P.M. that night. It was exhausting and completely pointless. The next day, we left around 10 A.M. and stopped around 4:30 P.M. Not as long as the first day, but twice as hard; we were walking on sore muscles and it was probably 10-15 degrees hotter. The third day we did no pulling, but we did do some games; this was probably the best part. On our final day, today, we pulled the handcart about forty-five minutes from where we were to where our parents were waiting to bring us home. It was hot, boring, and a complete waste of time. I'd have rather been here. I can't say it was difficult, but the conditions in which we pulled and existed were not at all comfortable and made for a miserable experience.
